USC is also co-organising documentary screening series「回望－紀錄片觀摩系列」with the Research Centre for Contemporary Chinese Culture, starting from January 2016. The series aims at promoting documentary films on contemporary China, with a focus on folk history and real personages. This is an all-year-around project, starting from each year's September to May in the next year. From September 2018, USC is going to hold two film screenings under Documentary Screening Series 回望－紀錄片觀摩系列, namely 《黃河尕謠》放映會 on 14 September, and《絕境求生》放映會 on 19 October. The film screening series has attracted more than 300 viewers in total, the majority of whom were students. The Documentary Series will be reported on CUHK Newsletter (Issue 525) in late October 2018.

In October 2018, USC will hold 4 luncheon seminars: On 12 October, Prof. ZHOU Enyu (周恩宇副教授) will give a luncheon seminar titled "易地扶貧搬遷的政策實踐及其困境――基於發展綜合症的分析視角"; on 19 October, Mr. LING Wenxiu will give a luncheon seminar titled "《吉林省各界右派分子名錄》的發現、內容及其意義"; on 22 October, Dr. SHANG Guangyan will give a luncheon seminar titled "金沙江下游水庫移民工作的重大理論與實踐問題"; and on 25 October, Prof. WU Guofu will give a luncheon seminar titled "廣西岩灘水電站庫區移民扶貧實踐的轉型".
