To enhance academic and cultural exchanges, the College has been organizing the "Ch'ien Mu Lecture in History and Culture" and the "Yu Ying-shih Lecture in History" since 1978 and 2008 respectively. For both programmes, a distinguished scholar will be invited to deliver a series of lectures exploring interesting topics on Chinese History and Culture.
In view of China's rapid economic growth inrecent years, the College has newly established the "New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China" with the aim of stimulating public interestin the development of and challenges faced by our country. A scholar or public figure from various professions will be invited each year to deliver lectures/seminars on recent issues related to the economy, society or environment of mainland China, Taiwan, Macau or Hong Kong.
The first "New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China"will be held in November 2012. Ms. Tu Qiao, a renowned journalist in mainland, who is devoted to the uncovering of contemporary social problems in Chinaby covert coverage.
