Itarle Scholarship 2020/21
Science Faculty Postgraduate Research Output Award 2020/2021

Our former PhD student, Dr Yan Tingjin (currently an Assistant Professor in East China Normal University), who was supervised by Prof. Wong Hoi Ying, was awarded Itarle Scholarship 2020/21. Itarle is a sponsor of PhD awards at CUHK. The Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science each have an award for the student with outstanding performance in their thesis. An internship at Itarle (Hong Kong) will also be offered to each prize winner.

Dr Yan Tingjin was also awarded the Science Faculty Postgraduate Research Output Award 2020/2021 for his remarkable research accomplishments.

Outstanding Alumni Service Award (Career Development) 2022

Mr Joe Tse is the recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Service Award (Career Development) 2022, which is presented by the Faculty of Science. Joe is the President of the Alumni Association of Department of Statistics (STAAA). He leads the STAAA, which provides a range of career support services for students and alumni, including regular career talks and the StaR Mentorship Programme (中大統計學系學長計劃). The STAAA also disseminates information about the department, career opportunities, and the achievements of outstanding alumni through its social media channels. At the Faculty’s Career Fair, Joe shared with students his experiences of working in the field of data analytics. The award was presented at the Faculty Award Ceremony 2022 on 27 August 2022.
