CUHK Holds Collaboration Meetings with Partner Institutions
The Office of Academic Links (China) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong conducted several online exchange meetings with the counterparts in the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Peking University (PKU) and Tsinghua University (Tsinghua) to enhance multilateral collaborations. Participating representatives from academic links and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs offices reviewed and discussed work plans at the meetings.
The close collaboration between CUHK with CAS in academic exchange and joint research projects could be dated back to the partnership establishment in 1980s. Apart from reviewing a range of ongoing collaborative initiatives at the meeting, both sides agreed to embark on new projects in summer research placement programmes for CUHK students as well as in developing PhD supervision schemes to jointly nurture talents.
CUHK established collaborative relationship with PKU and Tsinghua as early as in 1985, after which efforts have been made to enhance linkages in fields ranging from teaching and research, to student and executive interflow, yielding far-reaching results. The exchange meetings facilitated reports on latest developments and discussed upcoming research collaboration and interflow projects including joint academic programmes and a variety of academic exchange activities.
CUHK has been maintaining close exchange with partner institutions to bolster cross-region and inter-disciplinary cooperation in scaling high quality and multi-level platforms, achieving academic collaboration for mutual benefit. The Office of Academic Links (China) will continue to foster links and boost communication for growth of research and educational collaboration as well as talent nurturing with mainland strategic partners.
