Linkage Activities with Ningbo University

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Ningbo University (NBU) developed links since 2011 when a memorandum of understanding on establishing the Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund for Collaboration was signed to support academic and student interflow, as well as research and training between the two universities.  The following linkage activities were held in July 2016:

1. Prof. Henry Chan Lik Yuen Appointed as Li Dak Sum Professor

Prof. Henry Chan Lik Yuen, Assistant Faculty Dean of Medicine, was appointed as the fifth Li Dak Sum Professor at NBU.  Prof. Chan visited NBU from 11 to 13 July for the appointment ceremony. During the visit, Prof. Chan delivered a talk entitled "To understand Pharmacoeconomics from Hepatitis C" to share his research insights. The talk was well-received in NBU.

2. Hong Kong-Ningbo Summer Student Interflow Programme

With the support of Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund, a student interflow programme between Shaw College of CUHK and NBU took place from July 11 to 27.  A total of 12 CUHK and 20 NBU students participated in a series of activities in Ningbo and Hong Kong.  This year, students visited Xixi Park and Alibaba in Ningbo. At Alibaba, students were given introduction of the corporate culture, structure and global operations of the group.  The interflow helped establish friendship between students of the two universities and enhanced their understanding about the latest development of the two cities.
