Mentorship Scheme 2021–22

The College Mentorship Scheme was first introduced in 2012, the year when the first cohort enrolled. By now, 80 mentors, all distinguished professionals in their respective fields, have joined the Scheme to guide students on their educational and professional growth. Over 230 students are either currently in the Scheme, or have completed it.

Online Briefing Session

An online briefing session was hosted by Prof Vincent CHEUNG, Dean of Students cum a member of the Mentorship and Internship Committee, on 25 April 2022, to introduce participants to the objectives, intended learning outcomes and timeline of the Scheme, and to give advice on how to get along well with mentors. Two renewed mentees, Mr SHEK Hiu Fung (Year 2, Chinese Language Studies and Chinese Language Education) and Mr YE Haiyu (Year 3, Quantitative Finance & Risk Management) were also invited to share their rewarding experiences in the past cycle(s) of the Scheme.

Mentor-mentee Matching

This year, a total of 14 seasoned professionals from various sectors agreed to be mentors of our students and to share their insights to 21 mentees of different majors.

The mentors are like beacons that guide students to discover their full potentials, strengths and weaknesses, and inspire them to make improvement while they navigate through their academic learning, careers and personal development.

In view of the looming pandemic of COVID-19, the Launch Ceremony for the Mentorship Scheme 2021–22 was cancelled. The College also encouraged mentors and mentees to get acquainted with each other via online platforms.
