The delegation visited Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department, KIB and KIZ, and met with senior members and scientists of the organizations, including Mr. Long Jiang, Director-General of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department; Prof. Yao Yonggang and Prof. Wang Wen, Deputy Directors of KIZ; Prof. Li Dezhu and Prof. Liu Ji Kai, Director and Depty Director of KIB; and Mr. Zhang Xinggen, Director of HK Macao Affairs Office of CAS. Representatives from both sides took the opportunity to receive updates on research developments and discuss plans for further collaboration.
During the visit, a renewal MOU was signed between CUHK and KIZ stating further direction and developments of the Joint Laboratory of Bio-resources and Molecular Research of Common Diseases. CUHK renewed the collaboration agreements on Joint laboratory on Phytochemistry of Medicinal Plants and Plant Resources, and on State Key Laboratory of Phytochemistry and Plant Resources in West China with KIB. CUHK and Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department also signed a MOU for Research Collaboration to forge long-term partnership between CUHK and the research organizations in Yunnan.
The visit consolidated existing collaborative efforts of CUHK with its partner organizations in Yunnan and enhanced ties to facilitate research and academic exchanges for future development.
