Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Mr. Michael Wong, Deputy Secretary of the Education Bureau, HKSAR; Mr. Song Bo, Associate Director, Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, MOE, and Mr. Li Ling, Deputy Director General of Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony of the Programme.
The programme included a series of lectures and visits to universities, through which participants had a chance to better understand the academic exchange, mainland students admission, college system, human resources management, fund raising and alumini liaision of Higher Education Institutes, as well as education system in Hong Kong. The participants also had the opportunities to learn basic Cantonese, and to visit the Education Bureau and Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR.
The programme was accomplished with great success. It provided an opportunity for the academic links officers of Hong Kong and the mainland to communicate without boundaries. It also enhanced mutual understanding and relationship between higher education institutions in Hong Kong and the mainland universities under MOE and laid the foundation for future cooperation.
