Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), visited Wuhan from 28 to 30 April 2013 to strengthen academic linkage and explore new areas of collaboration with Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST)and Wuhan University (WHU).
During the visit to Wuhan University, Prof. Sung met with President Prof. Li Xiaohong. With the aim to promoting sustainable partnership, the two Presidents renewed the collaboration agreement between the two universities. An appointment ceremony was held for Prof. Sung as Guest Professor at WHU. Prof. Sung next gave a talk for Luojia Lecture where he exchanged ideas with scholars and students on medical education.
At HUST, Prof. Sungmet with President Prof. Li Peigen and academic members from Huazhong University of Science and Technology .Prof. Sung delivered a lecture for the Science and Practice Lecture to share his thoughts with HUST students. Visits were also paid to National Laboratory for Optoelectronics to learn about the research development of HUST.
President Sung also took the opportunity to meet with CUHK students and alumni on the mainland.
The visit provided an important opportunity for CUHK and its partners in Wuhan to update each other on the latest developments and discussed possible directions on various academic strengths, which consolidated existing collaborative efforts and enhanced ties for future cooperation.
