2013 State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China Strategic Summit

State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China Summit was a bi-annual event between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU). The activity was held for the first time in Hong Kong on 23 March 2013.Sixty investigators and researchers gathered in CUHK to exchange the latest scientific breakthroughs and explore possibilities for further and sustainable collaborations. The meeting started with a visit led by Prof. Allen Chan to the laboratories and facilities of CUHK. Prof. Anthony Chan, Prof. To Ka Fai of CUHK, together with Prof. Zhu Xiaofeng and Prof. Qian Chaonan of SYSU co-chaired the sessions. Presentations covered a wide range of topics from cancer genome screening to targeted therapy. New faculty members also present their work at the Summit. The event provided an important platform for exchange of innovative ideas and strengthening strategic partnership.

SYSU is one of the major strategic partners of CUHK. Since the establishment of partnership in 1981, CUHK and SYSU have carried out a wide range of collaborative projects. In 2006, CUHK established the State Key Laboratory in Oncology in South China in collaboration with SYSU.
