--------------- Provost of Zhejiang University Visits CUHK Prof. Song Yonghua , Provost of Zhejiang University, led a 5-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 13 November. During their stay, the delegates met with Prof. Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, to enhance communication and discuss new project collaboration between the two universities. Prof. Cheung gave an introduction of the University to the delegates, with focus on the latest teaching and research developments. Both sides discussed and devised plans for future collaboration in scientific research and academic exchange, as well as exploring ways of nurturing talents. The delegation also met with representatives from the Faculty of Business Administration to understand more about its advancement and explore collaboration opportunity. CUHK and Zhejiang University has been in close collaboration with a variety of collaborative projects ranging from student exchange to joint research laboratories. The visit further enhanced mutual understanding between the two universities and promoted collaborations in business administration, as well as general education and student development. --------------- Visit of Delegation from the Education Department of Jiangxi Province A delegation with representatives from the higher education institutions in Jiangxi, led by Ms. Yang Huiwen, Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of Jiangxi Province, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 7 November 2017 to gain a better understanding about the e-Learning system at the University. The delegation was warmly greeted by Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China); and Mr. Roger So, Associate Director of Cloud Computing Services, Information Technology Services Centre. In the meeting, CUHK representatives gave an overview of the University to the delegation and introduced the management and blueprint of e-Learning development in CUHK. The delegation also visited the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and met with Prof. Lin Hui, the Director of the Institute to acquire the latest information of the research development of the Institute. The visit deepened mutual understanding and paved the way to expand cooperation between CUHK and the institutions in Jiangxi Province. --------------- Visit of Delegation from the Education Departpemt of Guizhou Province Mr. Wang Bihai, Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of Guizhou Province led a delegation of representatives from higher education institutions in Guizhou, to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 22 November 2017. Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China); and Ms. Adele Wan, Head of Student Development & Resources Section, Office of Student Affairs warmly welcomed the delegates. An introduction of the latest developments of the University, with emphasis on curriculum, student affairs management and strategic campus development, was presented to the delegates. The delegates also visted the I-House to learn more about the governance of student amenities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for communication and facilitated the implementation of further collaborative activities between CUHK and institutions in Guizhou Province. |
