Core Group Nurture under I·CARE Achievers Programme: Progress Update

The 30 core group members of the I·CARE Achievers Programme took part in three induction activities and the 3-day-2-night Remoulding Camp in the 1st term to get prepared for the completion of different challenging tasks ahead.  One of the tasks is dividing all members into four small teams by their own interest to organise hiking, marathon, farming and camping events for other CUHK students.  Each small team has been assigned with a mentor.

The 1st small team-mentor meetings were held separately and in diverse forms last month.  Not only did members acquire professional advice in relation to their planning of the target activities, but the mentors were also sincere to share their wisdom and experience of personal gain and loss.  The mentors include:

Hiking:Dr. Roy Chung (Chairman of Vocational Training Council; Co-Founder & Non-
executive Director of Techtronic Industries Company Ltd.)
Marathon:Mr. Fung Wang Tak (Course Measurer (Grade A), International Association of
Athletics Federations (IAAF) & Association of International Marathons and
Distance Races (AIMS))
Farming:Ms. Anna Mak (Consultant & Founding Director of HakkaHome-LCW Ltd.)
Camping:Mr. Ng Ah Ming (Chief Commissioner of Scout Association of Hong Kong)

The small teams will continue to closely interact with their mentors and put their learning in practice.  Meanwhile, they are going to implement the next challenging task of the I·CARE Achievers Programme i.e. Extensive Reading Scheme.  Add up all tasks and the core group members will enjoy a holistic journey.
