The Remoulding Camp under this series was successfully held on 19-21 December of last year at Yi O Agricultural Cooperation and Hong Kong Shaolin Wushu Culture Centre, Tai O. The 3-day-2-night camp covered a wide range of activities including hiking at Fu Shan, eco-tours, farming, Shaolin morning exercises and meditation during the daytime. At night, not only did the screening of a local film Weeds on Fire cum the post-screening sharing take place, but a panel discussion on "Insistence on the Righteous Cause" was also held. The latter was attended by Prof. Joseph Sung (Overseer of the I·CARE Achievers Programme) and Prof. Lam Chiu Ying (former Director of the Hong Kong Observatory), with Ms. Irene Ng, the Director of this Centre, as moderator.
On the last day, participants were divided into groups to present their learning and gains from the camp. They also reviewed the character strengths they could best exercise through the various activities. Overall, they enjoyed a pit stop away from their busy campus life for re-recognising themselves and tasting the mother nature.
The I·CARE Achievers Programme will continue to organise a number of activities. If you have any enquiries, please contact Ms. Leung of this Centre via 3943 1595 (Tel) or carolleung@cuhk.edu.hk (Email).
