SHHO Runner Force for Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon
SHHO Runner Force programme has made incremental progress after the Xiamen International Marathon trip. Programme participants went on to take part in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on 24 February 2013, and supported the celebration of CUHK's 50th anniversary at the same time. College student Ma Ka Chung finished the 10km race in 48 minutes and 40 seconds. The programme's objective – see the world on foot – is taking shape.

SHHO Cultural Visit:
Traditional vs Contemporary Korea
On 6 January 2013, 22 members and students of S.H. Ho College headed for South Korea for a six-day cultural visit. With its high technology and creative industries internationally recognized, South Korea's conservation measures for protecting local traditions, historic sites and natural environment impressed the visitors.

CUHK 50th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony • Walkathon and Carnival
"CUHK 50th Anniversary Kick-Off Ceremony • Walkathon and Carnival" was held on 27 January, marking the beginning of celebration of the University's 50th birthday. Over 40 students and members of S. H. Ho College joined the SHHO Walkathon Team to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of CUHK together with 3,000 guests, alumni, staff and students. SHHO's lion dance team together with the other 8 "lions", representing the nine Colleges, performed lion dance to wish CUHK an energetic future.

The Wells: A New Place for Mental Resilience
Aiming at promoting personal growth and mental wellness, the College has set up a specialty room, The Wells, in Room 301 Chan Chun Ha Hall for students' mental health training and booking.

Change the World, Bit by Bit:
Like Reading Room First Salon
As an individual consumer with little, if any, power to influence the globalized economy, can we even imagine we can change the world? To inaugurate the Like Reading Room Salon Series, the first salon approached the topic of Fair Trade on 23 November, 2012. The College invited Anthony Chiu and Chow Sung Ming, directors of social enterprise "Hong Kong Fair Trade Power", to share the ideas of Fair Trade movement and their experience in promoting Fair Trade in Hong Kong.

Learn2Love Campaign Kicked off with Music Night
The College's Learn2Love Campaign was kicked off with a Music Night on 24 January, 2013 at College Central Steps. Jointly organized by SHHO and Touch Counseling Centre, the event brought students together through music in the wish to start dialogue on dating issues students may encounter in their love lives.

Thank you for inviting me to share with you my view of one of the major problems facing our modern life: central obesity. Over the past 50 years, humans have begun to take on a different evolution path.  We do not have to hunt, cultivate or plant to get food any more. Changes of economy enable us to work in buildings. Sedentary lifestyle and the abundance of high-energy food result in an increase in obesity.

My experience at Hang Seng Bank Private Banking was absolutely more than rewarding. I had the opportunity to work on the trading floor in their headquarters in Central for two months and I would say the atmosphere was marvelous.
