We are pleased to bring to you Issue 7 of the College Newsletter, which summarizes what has happened in Term 2 of the 2012–13 academic year. We take this opportunity to reflect on the first year with the Founding Students, to share their endeavours, their joy and their achievements with our friends and supporters — and with the group of new students and exchange students joining us in September 2013, who will more than double our numbers and enrich our community.

This Issue begins with two signed articles: one by Professor Stephen Hall, on the Student Honour Code, the other by Professor Jette Hansen Edwards, on the activities run under the Committee on College Life. We hope these will document not only what students have done, but also how teachers have devoted time and effort to create the framework and the opportunities for student growth and development. This Issue also documents the support that the College continues to receive from many benefactors.

In parallel to this Issue, we are also pleased to have released our new College website at

http://www.cwchu.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb

and especially two videos at

http://www.cwchu.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/video

which show the Founding Year and the First Orientation Camp.

The College has been busy: we have just recruited and welcomed our second cohort of students, another vibrant group of young people with wide interests and a multitude of talents; we now also have our first group of incoming exchange students in our midst. Students have engaged in a variety of interesting and worthwhile activities in the summer. We look forward to sharing these news with you in our next Issue towards the end of the calendar year — at which point we shall also be moving into our own premises.
