CW Chu College, in collaboration with Education for Good (EFG), launched four workshops to introduce students to social entrepreneurship. Dr Tse Ka Kui, the founder of EFG, and his team introduced the concept of social entrepreneurship, the stories of overseas outstanding social entrepreneurs and shared their experience on social entrepreneurship with our students.

As follow-up to part of these activities and a high point of the series, two CWC students, Miss Pearl Yan and Miss Peng Hejiahui, took part in a weeklong Yunus Centre Study Trip to Bangladesh, starting from 22 June 2013. During the trip, they learnt about and experienced social entrepreneurship in the setting of a developing country. Both students received the Reaching Out Award (HK$10,000) offered by the University to help defray part of their trip expenses. They will submit a reflection report and share what their had encountered in Bangladesh with fellow students during a communal dinner in Term 1 of the new academic year.
