Mr Michael Yip awarded The D H Chen Foundation Scholarship 2016–17
Mr Yip Cheuk Hei Michael (Year 2, Economics) has been awarded The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship 2016–17, in recognition of his contributions to the community and commitment to social services. The Award Ceremony was held on 19 September 2016.
Launched in 2015, The D H Chen Foundation Scholarship aims to nurture future leaders who will bring about positive social impacts.
Michael is President of the Fourth CWC Service Team (2015–16), and led his team in organising the CWC 2016 summer service project. For details of the service project, please refer to the article, 'Service Team'.
Miss Cheng Wai Chung wins Bronze Award in 2016 Hang Lung Mathematics Awards
Miss Cheng Wai Chung Dorothy (Year 1, Science) has won the Bronze Award in the 2016 Hang Lung Mathematics Awards for the topic, 'A Geometric Approach to the Second Non-trivial Case of the Erdös-Szekeres Conjecture'. The biennial Awards are open to candidates who at the time of entry were secondary school students. Dorothy had entered the competition before the summer, as a student in Diocesan Girls' School; the competition was held and judged after Dorothy had enrolled in the University.
Miss Poon Ka Wing wins Gold Award in General Education Best Essay Award 2015–16
Miss Poon Ka Wing (Year 3, Sociology) was selected as an award winner of the General Education Best Essay Award 2015–16. Miss Poon won a Gold Award for the essay entitled 'Is Sociology a Science?'. The Award will be presented in March 2017.
