Visitors

From August 2016 to February 2017, the College received a number of visitors. The visitors learnt more about the CUHK College system and the features of CW Chu College, and joined guided tours around the College premises. Details of these visits are as follows (in chronological order).

Hosting Visually-impaired student-visitors from Binzhou Medical University

Coordinated by Office of Academic Links (China) and Hong Kong Blind Union, four visually-impaired students from Binzhou Medical University, China, visited CUHK and resided in CW Chu College from 29 September to 11 October 2016. Mr CHAN Chun Yu (Year 3) and Miss GAO Han (Year 2) of CWC were among the CUHK student ambassadors who took care of the four visitors.

After the programme, the College received a beautiful set of postcards from Binzhou Medical University that captured the students' memories at CUHK.

Alumni Fundraising Walkathon on the Faculty of Engineering 25th Anniversary Celebration Day

CW Chu College was one of the checkpoints for the Alumni Fundraising Walkathon, organised by the Faculty of Engineering on 8 October 2016 in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. In support of the event and to extend hospitality, the College provided bottled water and towels to participants as souvenirs.

The 9th Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Exchange Executives

On 15 November 2016, Prof Kenneth Young, Founding Master, introduced the CUHK College system to executives from mainland universities and the Ministry of Education, who were participants of the 9th Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Exchange Executives, organised by the Office of Academic Links (China), CUHK.

Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen

A delegation of 4 teachers from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, led by Prof ZHONG Zheng, Dean of Faculty of Science, visited the College on 28 November 2016. Prof Kenneth Young, Founding Master, and Ms Melody Lee, College Secretary, gave the delegation a warm welcome.

Delegation from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen

A delegation of over 10 teachers and administrators from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, led by Mr KC Yuen, Vice President (Administration), visited the College on 22 December 2016. Prof Kenneth Young, Founding Master, gave the delegation a warm welcome, followed by a sharing session jointly held by Ms Candice Lam, College Secretary of Shaw College, and Ms Melody Lee, College Secretary of CW Chu College.

Visit from Chu Scholars

Two Chu Scholars, Ms Isabella Chan and Ms Katherine Mak, visited the College on 10 January 2017. Ms Melody Lee, College Secretary, gave them a warm welcome and accompanied both for a pleasant campus tour.

Visit from Mainland High School Students and Parents

On 2 February 2017, Prof Wai-Yee Chan, College Master, introduced the CUHK College system to a delegation of mainland high school students and their parents. Around 80 participants enjoyed a tour afterwards around the College campus, with sharing from a few mainland students of the College. The visit was part of the programme organised by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.
