CHAN Hei Chi (Graduate of Translation Programme 2016)
After graduating from Translation, I decided to broaden my knowledge base and to experience life abroad. I enrolled in a Master's programme in the Graduate School of International Studies in Seoul National University, and will spend two years here studying International Relations. I also decided to pick up Korean through attending intensive language classes in Korea. Hopefully, I will be able to attain professional proficiency by the end of my postgraduate studies here.
LUO Ruizhe (Graduate of Integrated BBA Programme 2016)
Hello, everyone. As one of the founding members, I graduated from CW Chu College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Right now, I am pursuing an MSc in Finance at Imperial College Business School.
There is no doubt that the past four years had been my most valuable life experience. It's not only about knowledge learning and the College activities, but also the people I met and the atmosphere of the College. I still vividly recall the living condition of International House 3, the establishment of the Student Honour Code Committee, the College Service Team and my presentations in the College General Education courses, the thrill I had when I first saw the new hostel building, and the support I got from our Founding Master during my postgraduate application.
As those memories flash back, and I am aware of the enormous debt I owe to the College. There is no better way to repay it than cultivating oneself and benefitting the community: Cultus et Beneficentia.
PONGSAROJANAVIT Peachayaporn (Graduate of Global Economics and Finance Programme 2016)
I graduated from CUHK with a Bachelor's degree in Global Economics and Finance in 2016. I had the pleasure of being a CW Chu College student and resident for the past four years. It was in those four years in CWC and CUHK that I met the most amazing friends and professors. I am currently working as an analyst at the Financial Institution Strategy Department, Bank of Thailand.
WU Charles (Graduate of Integrated BBA Programme 2016)
After my graduation from CW Chu College, CUHK, I continued my studies, now pursuing a Master of International Affairs in International Finance and Economic Policy, at Columbia University in New York City.
Life and studies in New York are more challenging, and the learning curve is steeper. I have been exploring both academically and professionally. Apart from studies and career development, there are a lot to see and participate in. I visited the Consulate General of China in New York, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and talked to the Governor of Bank of Thailand, who came to Columbia to deliver a speech.
Most memorably, and thanks to Prof Kenneth Young, I had the opportunity to meet and have dinner with many Chu Scholars, all of whom are very generous, successful, and most importantly, upbeat. As a student from the first cohort of CWC at CUHK, I unconsciously took my identity for granted; now that I have left the College, I do understand strongly the spirit of Chu Scholars, and my bonding with CWC became clearer. It is the generosity and the spirit that connect all of us.
I am grateful for the four years at CWC. If you can make it in New York City, you can make it anywhere, the saying goes. Having arrived at New York for two months, I am very excited and passionate about accomplishing more here.
