The Workshop on the Syntax of Topics organized by T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre of the Institute of Chinese Studies and sponsored by the United College was held on 14 February 2014.


The Workshop on the Syntax of Topics organised by the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre of the Institute of Chinese Studies and sponsored by the United College was held on 14 February 2014. The workshop focused on topics in natural languages using a comparative approach. Three speakers were invited, Professor C.T. James Huang (Harvard University), Professor Wei-Tien Dylan Tsai (National Tsing Hua University) and Professor John Whitman (The National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics and Cornell University).
