University Lecture on Civility - I·CARE Salon

An iconic programme under the University Lecture on Civility, I·CARE Salon offers a platform for exchange of insights on significant academic, cultural and social issues.  A week ago, its 7th Session was held successfully with a full house.

This Session was presided by Prof. Hui Po-keung of the Department of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University and facilitated by Prof. Chow Po-chung of the Department of Government and Public Administration at CUHK.  It was to echo to the 150th anniversary of the publication of Karl Marx's Capital: A Critique of Political Economy.  Prof. Hui started the lecture by elaborating concepts of Marx's capitalism, the world system and historical capitalism.  The subsequent Q&A session, during which many audiences raised questions and expressed their views, gave off an exciting vibe.  Everyone had experienced a fruitful and meaningful evening.

On the other hand, this year is the 100th Anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia.  I·CARE Salon is, therefore, honoured to have invited Prof. Jin Yan and Prof. Qin Hui to be speakers of its 8th and 9th Sessions respectively.  Details are as follows:
