The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) launched the first Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Scholars Visit Programme to enhance linkage with CASS. The first visit programme was held from 8-11 February 2012 in CUHK with the theme of archaeology. Three CASS scholars visited the University, including Prof. Wang Wei, Director of Institute of Archaeology of CASS; Prof. Xu Hong, Director of Department of Xia, Shang and Zhou Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology of CASS; and Prof. Liu Guoxiang, Deputy Director of Centre for Public Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology of CASS. During the visit, the scholars delivered public lectures at the Lecture Series by CASS Scholars.

Mr. Cao Weixing, Vice-Governor of Jiangsu Province led a 13-member delegation to the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for academic exchange on 15 February 2012. The delegation comprised representatives from Jiangsu Education Department, Presidents and Party Secretaries of the universities in Jiangsu Province, and Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R.

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a 6-member delegation to visit Zhejiang University (ZJU) on 20 February 2012 to conclude a collaboration agreement on "The Chinese University of Hong Kong - Zhejiang University Joint Research Centre of Liver and Digestive Diseases". Prof. Yang Wei, President of ZJU, together with Prof. Sung, officiated at the establishment ceremony of the joint centre.

The fifth Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Academicians Visit Programme was held from 21 to 25 February 2012. Six CAS Academicians jointed the delegation this year, including Prof. Wang Naiyan of China Institute of Atomic Energy; Prof. Li Can of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and Director of State Key Laboratory of Catalysis; Prof. Lin Xueyu of Jilin University; Prof. Wang Jiyang of Institute of Geology & Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Prof. Zheng Youdou of Nanjing University; and Prof. Zhou Xiaoxin of China Electric Power Research Institute.

A delegation of 46 students from Zhejiang University (ZJU) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the "Zhejiang University - Morningside Cultural China Scholar Scheme" on 6 February 2012. The students were warmly received by Prof. Joseph Sung, the Vice-Chancellor of CUHK.

Led by Prof. Anthony Chan, Associate Director of the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China (The Chinese University of Hong Kong), a total of 17 researchers and students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) participated in the Sino-US Symposium in Head and Neck Cancer from 6 to 7 January 2012. The symposium was jointly organized by the collaborative partners of CUHK from the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China (Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center) and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

A 33-member delegation headed by Prof. Gu Peihua, Provost of Shantou University, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 17 February 2012. The aim of the visit was to understand the management structure of the University.

-       A delegation led by Mr. He Zhiming, Deputy Director of Taiwan Affairs, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., paid visit to CUHK on 24 February 2012. The delegates met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Mr. Eric Ng, University Secretary and Registrar to understand the development of the University and its collaboration with Taiwan.
