CUHK Vice-Chancellor Attends Appointment Ceremony in Ningbo University

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), was appointed as the first "Li Dak Sum Professor" at Ningbo University (NBU). On 6 January 2012, Prof. Sung attended the appointment ceremony held in Ningbo University.

At the ceremony, Prof. Nie Qiuhua, President of NBU presented appointment certificate and NBU badge to Prof. Sung. After the ceremony, Prof. Sung delivered a talk entitled "Nurturing Leaders of Tomorrow through Higher Education", which was well-received by professors and students of NBU. Audience attended the talk also comprised a group of Shaw College students and Prof. Freedom Leung, Dean of General Education of Shaw College, who were participating in a cultural exchange program organized by NBU supported by the Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund.

 

With the goal to promoting academic exchange between CUHK and NBU, Dr. Li Dak Sum, Board of Trustees of New Asia College, donated a generous amount to establish the Li Dak Sum Academic Exchange Fund, supporting academic exchange, young scholars training and student interflow activities. More collaboration projects between the two universities will be launched in the future.
