The delegates visited research facilities in Faculty of Medicine including Minimally Invasive Surgical Skills Centre, Li Ping Medical Library, and the Lee Hysan Clinical Research Laboratories to obtain more information about the research development in medicine of CUHK. The delegation then met with members of CUHK including Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology; Prof. Fok Tai Fai, Dean of Medicine; Prof. Anthony Chan, Associate Dean of Medicine; Prof. Huang Yu, Assistant Dean of Medicine; Prof. Chan Waiyee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences; and representatives from the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, and the Faculty of Engineering. At the meeting, CUHK representatives introduced to the delegation the latest development of Faculty of Medicine and discussed possible collaboration areas.
During the visit, Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Dean of Medicine of CUHK and Prof. Jiang Wenqi, Director of School of Medicine of Shenzhen U signed a MOU on collaboration between the two parties. Six CUHK professors were appointed as Adjunct Professor at Shenzhen U and the Appointment Certificates were presented to them by Prof. Jiang Wenqi during the MOU signing ceremony.
Prof. Joseph Sung, CUHK Vice-Chancellor visited Shenzhen U in 2011 to establish links. This return visit further strengthened the linkages and enhanced the collaborative framework between the two universities.
