Ms. Chang was warmly received by Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK. Other CUHK members joining the reception included Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Prof. Paul Lee, Dean of Faculty of Social Science; Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen, Director of Research Institute for the Humanities; Prof. Leo Lee, Sin Wai Kin Professor of Chinese Culture; and Prof. Feng Shengli, Acting Chairman of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
During the meetings, CUHK representatives provided Ms. Chang with an overview of the recent academic development in arts and humanities, as well as the future plans in cultural affairs. Ms. Chang took the opportunity to give an introduction of Kwang Hwa and its role in Hong Kong. Discussions were held to exchange views and explore possible areas for cooperation. Ms. Chang next visited Chien Mu Library and toured Pavilion of Harmony.and Lake Ad Excellentiam.
Mr. Lo Chih-cheng, the former director of Kwang Hwa visited CUHK in 2011 and discussed plans for collaboration projects. It's the first visit of Ms. Chang after she assumed duty last year. Ms Chang was impressed by the development of arts and humanities in CUHK and the University's linkage with Taiwan universities. She expressed that she would offer strong support to strengthen the links between Kwang Hwa and CUHK in enhancing culture exchange between Hong Kong and Taiwan.
