President of Tsinghua University Visits CUHK
Prof. Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, led a delegation to visit CUHK on 15 December. During the visit, he met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and both Presidents renewed partnership agreement between the two universities.
CUHK members joining the meeting included Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Leung Yuen-sang, Dean ofArts; Prof. Wong Ching-ping, Dean of Engineering; Dr. Lee Ching Chyi, Associate Dean of Business Administration; and Prof. Leung Mei Yee, Director of University General Education. Prof. Qiu took the opportunity to know more about CUHK's latest development in humanities and general education. Discussions were heldon plans to strengthen collaboration in a range of research and academic areas.
Tsinghua University has been one ofthe university's important partners, with which CUHK have established academic links since 1985. Both universities have been in close collaboration in research and student exchange. This is the first visit of President Qiu to Hong Kong after he assumed his duty as the President of Tsinghua University. The visit further strengthened the bilateral ties in various collaborations to enhance communication between the two universities.

CUHK Establishes Partnership Agreement with National Art Museum of China
Prof. Wu Weishan,Director of National Art Museum of China (NAMC), visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 3 to 5 December. During the visit, Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK took the opportunity to sign a collaboration agreement with Prof. Wu regarding collaborative efforts between CUHK and NAMC.
Eminent sculptor Prof. Wu Weishan is currently Vice President of the China Artists Association and President of the China Academy of Sculpture of the Chinese National Academy of Arts. This year, Prof. Wu was conferred as Honorary Doctor of Literature by CUHK in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, academic and cultural progress in relevant fields. The visit enhanced the bilateral ties andpaved the way for collaboration and academic exchange between the Universityand NAMC in art collection and archives as well as exhibition and training of museum management.

Delegation led by Commissioner of State Intellectual Property Office
Mr.Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office, led a 6-memberdelegation to visit CUHK on 4 December. The delegates met with Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Prof. Dennis Lo, Associate Dean of Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Chan Wai Yee and Prof. Christopher Cheng, Director and Associate Director of School of Biomedical Sciences; and Prof. Walter Ho,Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services to discuss plans on possible collaboration.
