4. Feature: Grand Opening of WMY Learning Commons

The Learning Commons, located on the 6th floor of Wu Ho Man Yuen Building, cut the ribbon on 29 October, 2012. It is a learning area which is jointly managed by the Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) and University Library System (ULS).

The WMY Learning Commons creates a comfortable, flexible and collaborative environment. Open 24 hours daily, the Learning Commons provides you with a range of services for facilitating your individual studies and group works including, 

  • Express Station – Change your CU Link password or use them for short computing sessions
  • Service Desk – Contact our IT and library duty consultant if you need assistance in using our facilities. Our service hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (except public holidays). Service hours will be extended when there are enough staff members.
  • Private Study Zone – Spacious areas with different kind of seating for your private study
  • Collaborative Study Zone – Big LCDs and writing boards are installed to facilitate group work and discussion
  • Group Study Room – Equipped with computers and projector/LCDs for group discussion or presentations
  • IT Zone – Provided you with PCs, scanners and printers. Photocopying service will also be available in early December. A height-adjustable table is equipped with a PC and a scanner in which disabled users are given priority in using these facilities.
  • Wifi all around – Bring your smartphones and laptops to enjoy a free wifi access all over the place
