3. Mind your CWEM Password

Your CWEM password has become more important than ever as it is used for authentication in lots of CUHK web services. It means that your CWEM password is not only needed for checking e-mails, but also for registering courses, checking examination results (for students), and etc. Staff members also employ the password to access self-service functionalities.

It is therefore VERY IMPORTANT that your password is not disclosed to anybody. A leaked password will make your personal information vulnerable to hackers who wish to use it for illegitimate means. It would also endanger the entire system, so be considerate to yourself and others:

  • Use strong passwords with at least eight characters composed of random letters, digits and punctuation (e.g. #, $, % and spaces)
  • Change passwords regularly and
  • NEVER share your password(s) with anyone else!

For more information about creating strong passwords, please visit: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/security/gpis/guidestrongpw.html
