The forum announced the new policies of science and technology funding by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Ministry of Finance for Hong Kong higher education institutions and research institutions. Discussions were held on the new opportunities brought about by the new funding policy.
CUHK has always adopted a liberal policy on research undertakings that allow breadth and depth. Its research activities cover dimensions laterally to encompass all subjects that are offered at CUHK, vertically to integrate staff research with teaching, and longitudinally to range from upstream research to midstream development. The new measures will benefit the scientific research development of the University, fostering scientific collaboration between research teams from Hong Kong and mainland China.
