A 6-member delegation led by Dr. Gengqingshan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health of Guangdong Province, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to explore collaboration opportunities in medicine on 20 August, 2012.

The delegation was warmly greeted by CUHK representatives including Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Chan Wai Yee, Director of School of Biomedical Sciences, Prof. Tang Jinling, Associate Director of School of Public Health and Primary Care, and Prof. P.C. Shaw, Director of Biochemistry Programme.

 

During the meetings, the delegates got to know more about the University's latest development in the areas of medical sciences, life sciences, and public heath. They next visited relevant research facilities and laboratories to understand the progress of research projects and explore collaboration opportunities.

 

Dr. Gengqingshan was impressed by the progressive developments in medicine of CUHK. He expressed that the visit enhanced communication between CUHK and the Department of Health of Guangdong Province, which will foster research collaboration and development in the region.
