Prof. Fu Xiao Feng, Director of Major Research Program Division, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 23 to 24 August 2012. Together with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Mr. Zhang Xing Geng, Director of Hong Kong and Macao Office of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Prof. Fu officiated at the establishment ceremony of CUHK- Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH), CAS Joint Research Laboratory on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. Participating guests also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment.

A 6-member delegation led by Dr. Gengqingshan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health of Guangdong Province, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to explore collaboration opportunities in medicine on 20 August, 2012.

The Office of Academic Links (China) organized the Summer Research Placement Programme for Mainland and Taiwan Postgraduate Students during 18 June to 12 August 2012 at Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).  The programme aims at encouraging academic exchange among research students in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan, and enhancing collaboration among the universities in the 3 regions.

This summer, over 100 CUHK students participated in 12 interflow programmes to Mainland China and Taiwan through the coordination of the Office of Academic Links (China). Below is a complete list of these tours:

-     CUHK welcomed the delegation led by Prof. Li Cheng, Associate Vice-President of Nanjing University on 3 August 2012. The delegation met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Ms Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China) and Mr. Chan Ping Tak, Environmental Sustainability Manager to learn about the University and its green campus development.
