1) Delegation from Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department

Mr. Long Jiang, Director of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department visited CUHK to get a better understanding of the University and to explore collaboration opportunities. Director Long met with Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor to learn about the latest developments of the University. The delegates also visited the School of Biomedical Sciences where they met with Prof. K.P. Fung, Acting Director, Prof. C.H. Cho, Associate Director, Prof. W.H. Yung and students from Yunnan. The delegation also had meeting with Prof. Jimmy Yu, Associate Director of the Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainability, and paid visit to the Solar Energy Laboratory to understand the updated research development on new energy and new materials.

2) Delegation from Yunnan Provincial Education Department

Mr. Luo Chongmin, Director of Yunnan Provincial Education Department met with Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and Mrs. Grace Chow, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid to get to know more about the development of the University and its admission matters in Mainland China. The delegation next toured the campus of CUHK.

CUHK has been maintaining continuous links with the Provincial Departments in Yunnan. Director Luo and Director Long have visited CUHK before to develop linkages with the University. Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK led a delegation to Yunnan in June 2012 and collaboration agreement was signed with Provincial Science and Technology Department to forge collaboration during the visit. It is believed that these visits will foster long-term relationship in academic exchange between CUHK and research organizations in Yunnan.
