Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, this academic year’s “Fitness x Mentorship” Scheme was carried out in an online mode for the first term. The enrolled CUHK students and their sports partners (i.e. residents of the Lee Yen & Lee Yuk Lun, BBS, JP, Father & Son Lohas Villa, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals) were engaged in three interactive sessions via Zoom on the 14th, 18th and 21st of this month.
Participants enjoyed the practice of static and dynamic stretching exercises led by professional running instructors in the first and last sessions, which was followed by an exchange of recent happenings. In the middle session, the Tung Wah residents shared the techniques of making “Decoupage” with the CUHK students and they co-created handicrafts through this means afterwards. This Centre then helped delivered their art pieces to one another as a token of care-giving during the pandemic.
The “Fitness x Mentorship” Scheme not only encourages CUHK students to develop a regular exercise habit, but also enhances their understanding of various members of the community through the forming of friendship.
