Newly launched by this Centre, Life@CUHK drew to a successful close last week. In 16 days' time, 20 activities had been rolled out to enrich students' campus life and were, in general, well received. They included outdoor painting, laughter yoga, turbo kick, digital detox, experiencing Chinese tea culture, gazing of stars, talks, etc.
Amidst all activities, those relating to handicrafts are particularly popular. Participants of the workshops on rubber stamp, western calligraphy, leather ware and organic soap have not only acquired basic crafting skills, but they also handmade the pieces of their own design. Another activity, namely campus biodiversity tour, was great fun that facilitated the participants' identification of common local creatures around the Lake Ad Excellentiam. They also learnt how to distinguish the sounds of a number of bird species. Please click here for the recording of the tour as well as a brief introduction of the plants seen along the way. Life@CUHK was rounded off with the talk "What is LOVE…and what is not?" by Dr. Lau Po Hei. Held on the eve of Valentine's Day, the event won an overwhelming response reflected by a full house of audiences. This Centre will keep on running activities to motivate students to explore the plentiful possibilities of life. # Please click the images on the right-hand side to view the full photos.
