The scheme of this academic year is now recruiting 18 students to participate in a research study focusing on "Grassroots Housing", which will last for approximately eight months. Participants will be escorted to interview underprivileged residents to understand their housing challenges from a first-person perspective. Under the guidance of qualified teachers, they will also study the causes and impacts of inadequate housing and the approaches to secure "the grassroots' right to housing".
Each of the students who has completed the scheme will be awarded the I·CARE Community Research Scheme Scholarship of HK$1,500, while the team with the best performance will be awarded the CUHK Golden Jubilee Ms. Manda Young Scholarship of HK$20,000. Individual participants with outstanding performance may also be nominated to win the Outstanding Performance Awards for Students of I·CARE Programme to receive an additional cash prize of HK$1,000.
