On the 2nd of last month, the CUHK Bridge to China Team conducted an online team building activity namely “Gansu Cultural Day”. Through interactive games, participants had enhanced their mutual understanding and fostered a strong esprit de corps. At the same time, they deepened their knowledge of Gansu where they are supposed to launch bridge building works in future.
As for the local construction project, core members of the CUHK Bridge to China Team assisted in rebuilding the community kitchen and repairing the earth kiln in Nam Chung at northern New Territories from January to April of this year in order to facilitate cooking by the villagers and volunteers. They learnt from the volunteers of Wu Zhi Qiao (Bridge to China) Charitable Foundation the green construction practices and mending techniques. Together they made mud bricks and repaired some exterior walls.
This Centre will continue walking with the CUHK Bridge to China Team to develop the community in remote areas and improving people’s living condition on the Mainland. For enquiries, please contact Miss Fung of this Centre via 3943 9860 (Tel) or mayfung@cuhk.edu.hk (Email).
