The Stage 1’s Training Activities of the Social Enterprise Startup Scheme of this academic year were nicely completed in the first term. The interview aiming to select project teams for entering into the “mentorship programme” took place on the 3rd of last month, where 14 teams out of 26 enrolled projects had succeeded. They will be steered by designated mentors to draw up business plans for competing for the CUSE Fund to obtain a maximum of HK$100,000 (per team) as seed money.
As for the Stage 2’s Training Activities, two sessions were conducted on the 1st and 24th of this month respectively. The former seminar, titled “Strategic Marketing and Value Deposition”, had Mr. Alan To (Co-founder of Yum Cha Together) to inspire participants to explore different business models of social enterprises. Miss Bonnie Chiu (Founder of Lensational and Managing Director of TSIC) appeared from overseas in the latter sharing session to launch an online dialogue with participants on “An Innovative Journey of a Young Social Entrepreneur”. One training activity remains to be rolled out with details as follows:
