In the first two days of the programme, Prof. Chan Wai-Yee and Prof. Woody Chan chaired, respectively, the sessions on "Pluripotency, early embryo stem cells" and on "Lineage and directed differentiation of stem cells to biologically/clinically relevant cell types". Along with other Guest Speakers from Australia, Europe, Japan and North America who shared at the series of open lectures and technical workshops their expertise on stem cell study, Prof. Pei Duanqing, our Adjunct Professor and Director, Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences also served as one of the Guest Speakers and gave a talk on "Cellular reprogramming, development and cancer". Participation in this Croucher Foundation ASI has not only strengthened our academic interaction with other local higher institutions, but also allowed our School to build up closer connection with overseas scientists and institutions renowned in different domains of stem cell research.
