| From 18 May 2018 to 30 September 2018, USC organized 16 luncheon seminars on the topics of Chinese anti-poverty campaign, party governance, manufacturing industries, and many other issues. The seminars attracted over 300 participants, including local, Mainland and overseas undergraduates and postgraduates, scholars from various academic institutions, journalists, staff from non-government organizations and the general public. Many insightful comments and questions were raised during the discussion period. |
USC co-organizes documentary screening series「回望——紀錄片觀摩系列」with the Research Centre for Contemporary Chinese Culture, starting from January 2016. The series aims at promoting documentary on contemporary China, with a focus on folk history and real personages. This is an all-year-around project, starting from each year's September to next May. From September 2018, USC planned to hold two film screening events under Documentary Screening Series 「回望—— 紀錄片觀摩系列」, namely 《黃河尕謠》放映會on September 14th, and《絕境求生》放映會 on October 19th. The film screening series has attracted more than 300 hundred audiences in total, majority of whom were students. The Documentary Series will be reported on CUHK Newsletter (Issue 525) in late October 2018.
In October 2018, USC will hold 4 luncheon seminars. On 12 October, Prof. ZHOU Enyu (周恩宇副教授) will give a luncheon seminar titled "易地扶貧搬遷的政策實踐及其困境——基於發展綜合症的分析視角". On 19 October, Mr. LING Wenxiu (凌文秀先生) will give a luncheon seminar titled "《吉林省各界右派分子名錄》的發現、內容及其意義". On 22 October, Dr. SHANG Guangyan (商豔光博士) will give a luncheon seminar titled "金沙江下游水庫移民工作的重大理論與實踐問題". On 25 October, Prof. WU Guofu (吳國富副教授) will give a luncheon seminar titled "廣西岩灘水電站庫區移民扶貧實踐的轉型". |
