Use of Generative AI in Education – for Teachers and Students

Generative AI, a recent hot topic, has fundamentally changed how we teach and learn. It speeds up the creation of educational materials, provides personalized guidance, supports innovation in teaching, and more. On the other hand, improper/unauthorized/unethical use of such technology could bring harmful consequences to the community.

Considering this, the University has set out the following guidelines and policies for the adoption of AI within the University to leverage its full potential:

  1. Use of Generative AI in Education – Guidelines for Teachers and Students, and the Service: https://www.elearning.cuhk.edu.hk/generative-artificial-intelligence-in-education
  2. Guidelines on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments (CUHK Login required): https://www.aqs.cuhk.edu.hk/documents/staff/Guidelines-on-use-of-AI-tools-in-TL.pdf
  3. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments - A Guide for Students: https://www.aqs.cuhk.edu.hk/documents/A-guide-for-students_use-of-AI-tools.pdf

The above resources set forth general directions on the use and application of AI tools in teaching and learning, and will be reviewed and updated as needed to reflect changes in technology, best practices, and other relevant developments.
