The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held its 68th Congregation for the Installation of the New Vice-Chancellor and for the Conferment of Degrees on 16 December. Representatives from Ministry of Education, Shenzhen Municipal Government and cross-strait universities attended the Congregation.

A 5-member delegation led by Prof. Pan Yunhe, Executive Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 2 December to explore future cooperation opportunity.

A 12-member delegation from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the 'CAE Academicians Visit Programme 2010' from 15 to 18 December. The delegation included Prof. Yang Shengli, Prof. Zhen Yongsu, Prof. Dai Kerong, and Prof. Wang Hongyang from the Division of Health Engineering, and Prof. Zhang Xingdong from the Division of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

The plaque-unveiling ceremony of the Key Laboratory of High Confidence Software Technologies (Sub-Laboratory, The Chinese University of Hong Kong) was held on 15 December. Approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the laboratory was established in the Faculty of Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Officiating at the ceremony were Mr. Ming Ju, Director of Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education; Prof. Lin Jianhua, Executive Vice President and Provost of Peking University; Mr. Cao Guoying, Associated Counsel, Department of Education, Science and Technology, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR; Prof. Yue On-ching, Science Advisor, Innovation and Technology Commission of HKSAR; and Prof. Henry Wong, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK.

The first Writers @CUHK Programme was launched on 1 December. The programme was co-organized by the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Chinese Writers Press Group with the support from the Office of Academic Links (China) of CUHK. Prof. Ge Fei of Tsinghua University and Mr. Akbar Majit, Editor-in-chief of Chinese Writers Press Group were invited to the University under this programme.

-          On 14 December, a 3-member delegation led by Prof. Ren Youqun, Vice-President of East China Normal University visited CUHK and met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and representatives from Faculty of Education.
