Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), led a 6-member delegation to Beijing from 25 to 26 May to strengthen academic linkage and explore new areas of further collaboration.

A 9-member delegation led by Dr. Jiang Mianheng, Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 22 May for academic exchange and to grasp the valuable collaboration opportunity.

Prof. Zhang Donggang, Deputy Director of Department of Social Science of Ministry of Education visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for academic exchange from 5 to 7 May, 2010. He was accompanied by academics from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) including Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Vice President of SYSU, Prof. Liu Zhiwei and Prof. Li Zhongfei.

On 18 May, Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor Designate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led a delegation to visit Ningbo and Suzhou to explore exchange opportunity. The delegation comprised Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor Designate; Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Prof. Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor.

On 25 May, a seven-member delegation of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) led by PVC Prof. Jack Cheng visited Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) to sign an agreement in establishing the CUHK-BIT Joint Research Center for Optomechatronics Design and Engineering between the two universities, and to attend the plaque-unveiling ceremony of the Center.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) opened the "Student Achievements in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2010" from 10-14 May 2010 in the University Library. This exhibition showcased the award-winning inventions and works of CUHK students in a variety of competitions especially "Challenge Cup" organized in the mainland covering areas from medicine, environmental architecture, urban planning as well as energy efficiency and renewable energy.

2010 Guangdong-Hong Kong Forum for Academic Exchange Heads was held in Hong Kong on 1 June. With the support from the Education Dpeartment of Guangdong Provincial Government; and the Division of Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR (Liaison Office), the forum was co-hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and 8 other Hong Kong tertiary institutions. More than 40 representatives from 24 institutions attended the forum.

Agreements newly established between the Chinese University of Hong Kong and higher education institutions in the mainland / Taiwan:
