2009 CAE Academicians Visitorship Programme cum Lecture Series by Academicians |
A 12-member delegation from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) under the "CAE Academicians Visitorship Programme 2009" from 1 to 4 December. The delegation comprised 4 CAE academicians, including Prof. Sun Jiulin from the Division of Agricultural (CAE), Prof. Li Deren from the Division of Information and Electronic Engineering (CAE); Prof. Lu Shibi and Prof. Zhang Yun from the Division of Health Engineering (CAE). Members of the delegation also consisted of Ms Shi Liying, Deputy Secretary-General (CAE), Mr Tian Qi, Director of Bureau of International Cooperation (CAE) and representatives from The General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The delegates were warmly received by Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor-Designate; Prof. Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Wong, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and relevant faculty members of CUHK. |

2009 Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Links Officers in Cooperation with the Ministry of Education |

Symposium on Frontiers in Epithelial Cell Biology Research 2009 |
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Epithelial Cell Biology Research Centre (ECBRC), a "Symposium on Frontiers in Epithelial Cell Biology Research 2009" was held in Shenzhen on 27 November. ECBRC, established as a joint effort of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, is the first integrated research institution ever founded in China which is devoted to epithelial cell biology research. The Centre has become a hub for academic exchange and research collaboration in the area of epithelial cell biology. |
