Symposium on Frontiers in Epithelial Cell Biology Research 2009

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Epithelial Cell Biology Research Centre (ECBRC), a "Symposium on Frontiers in Epithelial Cell Biology Research 2009" was held in Shenzhen on 27 November. ECBRC, established as a joint effort of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, is the first integrated research institution ever founded in China which is devoted to epithelial cell biology research. The Centre has become a hub for academic exchange and research collaboration in the area of epithelial cell biology.

More than 20 institutions/hospitals/research units, such as Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Shenzhen Health Bureau and National Natural Science Foundation in China, sent their representatives to participate in the event. Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Prof. Chan Hsiao-chang, Director of ECBRC attended the symposium to commemorate this important ten-year milestone of ECBRC.
