President of Xinjiang Medical University Visits CUHK

Prof. Upur Halmurat, President of Xinjiang Medical University (XMU), led a delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 5 January 2012. An agreement on short term student exchange with Lee Woo Sing College of CUHK was signed during the visit.

Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK warmly welcomed the delegation and he was joined by the representatives from Lee Woo Sing College including Prof. Joseph Lau, the Master; Prof. Yam Yeung; the Associate Master; Prof. Dickson Ng, Dean of Students; Prof. Lan Huiyao, Chairman of the International Exchange Programme Committee; and Mrs. Alice Law, Secretary of the College.

 

At the meeting, CUHK representatives introduced to the delegation the University's latest development and its unique college system. Prof. Upur Halmurat and Prof. Joseph Lau signed a collaboration agreement on short term exchange programme between XMU and Lee Woo Sing College. Through the programme, students of Lee Woo Sing College will be offered the opportunity to visit Xinjiang and have culture exchange with students of XMU. The delegates next toured the beautiful campus of CUHK.

 

The visit enhanced mutual understanding and nurtured friendship. It also strengthened the linkage between the two universities for further collaboration.
