Party Secretary of Fudan University Visits CUHK to strengthen bilateral collaboration
Ms Jiao Yang, Party Secretary of Fudan University (FDU) led a ten-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 1 November. The delegates met with senior members of CUHK for exchange, including Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President; Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Wong Suk Ying, Associate-Vice-President; Prof. Du Julan, Director of Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute; Ms. Louise Jones, University Librarian and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China).
Members of the two universities discussed various exchange projects between CUHK and FDU, and devised plans to enhance the collaborative efforts. A Memorandum of Understanding on Library Collaboration was signed to promote resource sharing and exchange between staff and students between two libraries. A renewal of collaboration agreement regarding Shanghai-Hong Kong Development Institute was also concluded to consolidate the future direction of partnership. The delegates, accompanied by President Tuan, next visited Lee Woo Sing College where they enjoyed the performance of "CUHK Lee Woo Sing College – FDU Renzhong College Jingqu and Kunqu Art Exchange" delivered by students of the two colleges. Through the art exchange activities, CUHK and FDU collaboratively promote Chinese traditional culture and the art of national quintessence.
Fudan University is one of the key partner institutions of CUHK in mainland China. Since the establishment of partnership in 1985, both universities have carried out a wide variety of collaborative projects. A bilateral Partnership Steering Committee was set up in 2015 to forge effective and sustainable relationship. Both FDU and CUHK are members of the Alliance of University General Education. The University joined the Alliance in 2016 as the only member institution from Hong Kong.

Xiamen University President Visits CUHK and Renews Collaboration Agreement
Prof. Zhang Rong, President of Xiamen University, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 7 November in a delegation of five. They met with Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK with a renewal collaboration agreement concluded between Xiamen University and CUHK.
The delegation also met with other CUHK members including Prof. Lai Pan-chiu , Faculty Dean of Arts; Prof. Cheng Chung-yi, Associate Dean of Arts; Prof. Lai Ming-chiu, Department Chairman of History; Prof. Ho Pui-yin, Director of Research Institute for the Humanities; Prof. Hsiung Ping-chen, Director of Taiwan Research Centre; Prof. Poo Mu-chou, Graduate Division Head of the Department of History; Professor Xu Jianbin, Director of Materials Science and Technology Research Center and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China).
Both sides exchanged ideas at the meeting specifically on prompting student interflow and nurturing of talents. The delegates were then led to visit the engineering laboratories, where they got to know more about research development of CUHK's electronic engineering. The visit of President Zhang enabled both sides to enhance understanding and connection, promoting sustainable development of the partnership.

President of Fu Jen Catholic University Visits CUHK and Renews Collaboration Agreement
Professor Han-Sun Chiang, President of Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU), led a 6-member delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 16 November. The delegates had meeting with senior members of CUHK including Prof. Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President, Prof. Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Enders Ng, Associate Dean (Alumni Affairs) of Medicine, as well as Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). A renewal of university-level collaboration agreement between the two universities was concluded during the meeting to consolidate foundation of future cooperation.
CUHK and FJU has established partnership since 2009. President Tuan of CUHK has paid a visit to FJU in June this year. The visit of President Chiang further strengthened bilateral understanding which strategically expands the field of partnership.

President from Capital Normal University Visits CUHK
Professor Meng Fan-hua, President of Capital Normal University (CNU), led a delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 27 November. The delegates gained a better understanding of CUHK's development in the meetings with Professor Fok Tai-fai, Acting Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; Professor Alvin Leung, Faculty Dean of Education; and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China). Both sides discussed ways to enhance collaboration between the two universities, including promotion of joint supervision of students and academic exchange. The visit to the Faculty of Education also enabled the delegates to learn more about the latest research and teaching development of Education at CUHK. The visit enhanced linkage and friendship between CUHK and CNU, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in various aspects.

Guangdong Provincial Education Department Deputy Director General Visits CUHK
Ms. Na Jia, the Deputy Director General of the Education Department of Guangdong Province, led a 5-member to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 2 November. The delegates met with Professor Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China); Mr. Chan Chi-ho, Director of Strategic Developments; and Ms. 27Nowell Wong, Head of Personnel Management and Research Administration, PWH Redevelopment Planning Office. They explored collaboration opportunities between CUHK and Guangdong Province by understanding CUHK's intention in nurturing medical talents in Guangdong Province.
The University has been maintaining close partnership with tertiary institutions and research organizations in Guangdong Province. Examples of deep collaboration projects include the State Key Laboratory, the Key Research Institute in Humanities and Social Sciences, the Collaboration Innovation Center and the MOE Key Laboratory. The visit deepened mutual understanding and paved the way to expand cooperation between CUHK and the institutions in Guangdong Province.
