Executive Exchange Programmes

The 11th Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Links Officers in Cooperation with the Ministry of Education

Supported by the State Ministry of Education (MOE), the 11th Interflow Programme for Mainland Academic Links Officers was held from 11 to 17 November 2018 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).  A total of 30 academic links executives from various mainland universities participated in the programme.

Prof. Isabella Poon, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK expressed a warm welcome to the participants.  Ms. Zhou Chenchen, Principal Staff Member of Division of policy and planning, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the State Ministry of Education; Ms. Huang Yu, Consultant from the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; and Ms Sharon Ko, Principal Assistant Secretary (Higher Education) of the Education Bureau of the HKSAR officiated at the opening ceremony. Participants joining the programme were from the following 30 mainland universities (in alphabetical order):
 
Beijing Language and Culture University, Beijing Normal University, Central China Normal University, Central South University, China University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing University, Communication University of China, East China Normal University, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Hubei University, Lanzhou University, Nanjing University, Northeast Normal University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Shaanxi Normal University, Shandong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, South China University of Technology, Southeast University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sun Yat-sen University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an Shiyou University, Yunnan University, Zhejiang University

The 7-day programme consisted of a series of lectures and visits, through which participants came to have a better understanding of Hong Kong's tertiary education system, in such areas as academic links and exchange, personnel management, student affairs, fund-raising activities and strategies, as well as CUHK's unique college system.  Participants also had the opportunity to learn basic Cantonese and visit other local institutions as well as public organizations to acquire a broader and more complete picture of Hong Kong. Prof. Fok Tai Fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK attended the closing ceremony and presented the certificates to the participants.

CUHK has been organizing this programme annually since 2008 with the support from the Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the MOE, the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, as well as the Education Bureau of the HKSAR.  The programme provided participants from Hong Kong and mainland China with a valuable chance to learn from and interact with each other, enhancing mutual understanding and paving the way for further cooperation.
