I·CARE NGO Internship Programme (Hong Kong): Call for Application

The I·CARE NGO Internship Programme (Hong Kong) offers local internship opportunities to CUHK students to facilitate their understanding of the values and practices of the attached NGOs and the context of social development.  Participants will engage themselves in current social issues and gain first-hand experience of interacting with different people of the community.  So far one organisation has provided placement for the programme of this academic year.  More openings will follow.  Details of the current item are as below:

The Jane Goodall Institute
(Hong Kong) -

The Jane Goodall Institute was established in 1977 by the famous British primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall.  It is a global non-profit organisation dedicated to wildlife research, education and conservation.  Founded in 2002, the Jane Goodall Institute (Hong Kong) is a registered charity organisation in Hong Kong.  It is committed to carrying Dr. Jane Goodall’s spirit in ecological conservation, environmental protection and humanistic care.  It adheres to the philosophy of the institute and promotes the importance of environmental conservation to different stakeholders.  It has also cultivated young people in Hong Kong to become important members of environmental conservation through various projects.

Job Description

  1. To assist in marketing and communication management for multi-channel audience
  2. To plan and execute environmental education related activities

Eligibility

  1. Undergraduates of year-2 or above
  2. Have good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese
  3. Be able to work independently
  4. Proficient in computer application (including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Editors)
  5. Have good knowledge of social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  6. Familiarity with design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) is an advantage

Internship Period

  1. Mid-February - April 2021
  2. Not less than 8 hours per week (exact schedule to be drawn up by mutual agreement between the interns and the agency)

Working Mode

Work from home (supplemented with regular reporting, supervision meeting and final review, etc.)

Allowance

HK$72.5 / hour (17% by the attached organisation; 83% by this Centre)
