4. Microsoft Campus License Agreement Update

The University has subscribed to the Microsoft Campus Agreement from 1 Jun 2013 to 31 May 2014. Departments are granted the right to use the following software covered by the Agreement within the above subscription period:


  • Microsoft Desktop Campus (All Languages):
    • Windows Operating System (OS) Upgrades* (include Windows 8 Enterprise Upgrade);
    • Office Professional Plus 2013 and Office Standard for Mac 2011;
    • Visual Studio Professional 2012;
    • Core CAL Suite (Windows Server CAL, Exchange Server Standard CAL-Device CAL, Office SharePoint Server Standard CAL-Device CAL, and System Management Server Client ML);
  • Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack 2012;
  • Microsoft Project Pro 2013;
  • Microsoft VISIO Prem 2013 and
  • Microsoft SQL Server Client Access License (CAL) - Device CAL

As with all products licensed through the Microsoft Campus Agreement, we have the option of deploying downgrade versions (previous version) in place of the current licensed version. For instance, we may choose to deploy the Windows XP Professional operating system instead of the Windows 8 Enterprise operating system.
In addition, under the Work at Home Use Rights, faculties and staff members also have the right to run one copy of the software, for school-related purposes only, on a home PC, either a laptop or desktop that they own or lease.

The renewed campus agreement gives us the right to use a number of Microsoft software on all the University-owned PCs.
