The delegation comprised Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor Designate; Prof. Benjamin Wah, Provost; Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
CUHK's delegation visited Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Peking University and Tsinghua University. During the visit, Prof. Lau and the delegates met Mr. Yuan Guiren, Minister of Education; Mr. Wang Weizhong, Vice-Minister of Science and Technology; President Zhou Qifeng of Peking University and President Gu Binglin of Tsinghua University. The visit to the two Ministries was accompanied by Mr. Pan Yonghua, Director General of Education, and Mr Li Ling, Deputy Director General of Education, Science and Technology Department of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR.
In meetings with government officials and university management, the delegation received updates on the latest developments and discussed collaboration directions and issues on various academic strengths. A collaboration agreement was renewed with Peking University to foster further linkages. This visit consolidated existing collaborative efforts of CUHK and enhanced ties for future cooperation.
